@asmartbear most cheap shared hosting companies don’t support node. Calypso seems to really benefit a WP specific multi-site architecture

@technosailor front-end scalability is just a different issue.

@technosailor it’s just a different challenge. Scalability isn’t as much of an issue on the back end, but user responsiveness is.

Re: #calypso – does client-side JS talking to a php-based rest api make sense, or does that just defeat the purpose?

3:10am Nov 24 2015 —

@technosailor caching today on the front-end is well understood. A more responsive back-end “app” is most welcome.

@technosailor sounds like a project I did back in my pre-b5 days. WP just for admin, spitting out flat xml to be rendered. Maintence hell.

@jeffr0 the good news: I’m guessing we’re about to see a lot more host supporting node!

in reply to jeffr0 — 2:43am Nov 24 2015 —

@jeffr0 Long-term, Calypso clearly benefits WordPress-as-a-service hosts like @WordPressVIP , @wpengine, etc.

@modsuperstar I’m leaning towards Spotify, just for the cross-platform availability, even if most of my stuff is Apple.

So, rdio users, are you heading to Apple Music, Google, or Spotify?
